2nd day in Quito

July 1, 2009

The 2nd day but the first whole day in Quito, Yasu and I both had funny and nice dreams.
Some I remember, but some I don’t.
We started out the day kind of lazy, talked about the dreams of each other as we were laying on the bed.

Moved to the SECRET GARDEN ; the room was not ready.
while we were waiting for the room to be fixed, we hung around cafe area, having coffee(very good coffee), talking with other travelers mostly Europeans especially English.

Didn’t do much. The altitude is not as high as Cusco Peru but still high enough to make visitors slow down. We took ‘trole’(bus) to New Town in Quito. We booked airplane tickets for Friday to go to Loja (Southern Ecuador) and walked around the town. I bought a shampoo & conditioner, Yasu got some warm clothing and books to read in Spanish.

Although all car drivers drive wild as in any of South American country, I loved the fact that the sidewalks are wide. The town is filled with a lot of restaurants serving local food and shops carrying goods, etc. Ecuadorians must love music and books a lot, we passed at least three big musical instruments stores and book stores. On the way back to the hostel,we smelled Ecuadorian food all over, delicious.
